Sci-Hub is a website with over 62,000,000 academic papers and articles available for direct download. It bypasses publisher paywalls by allowing access through educational institution proxies. Sci-Hub stores papers in its own repository, and additionally the papers downloaded by Sci-Hub are also stored in Library Genesis (LibGen).

Sci-Hub was founded by Kazakh graduate student Alexandra Elbakyan in 2011, as a reaction to the high cost of research papers behind paywalls, typically US$30 each when bought on a per-paper basis.

In 2015 academic publisher Elsevier filed a legal complaint in New York City against Sci-Hub alleging copyright infringement by Sci-Hub, and the subsequent lawsuit led to a loss of the original sci-hub.org domain. Following the first domain loss, Sci-Hub has cycled through a number of domains, some of which have been blocked in certain countries. Sci-Hub has been controversial, lauded by parts of the scientific and academic communities and condemned by a number of publishers.

How to Download?

There are two different ways to download the articles with the help of Sci-Hub websites.

First Option: The first method is to directly go to the Sci-Hub URL links and enter your searched article's URL or, PMID (PubMed identifier or PubMed unique identifier) or, DOI (Digital Object Identifier) or, Exact Title on the Search box and click Open.

Second Option: The second method is to directly placing .sci-hub.ac or .sci-hub.cn or .sci-hub.bz or .sci-hub.cc in-between .com/.org/.net extension and "/" of your desired article's URL and hit enter.

Then Your Edited URL Will Be: 

https://link.springer.com.sci-hub.cc/article/10.1023/A:1016012023575

N.B. This process may not work for every attempts you make. But there is a 70-80% possiblity, that this method will work.
